Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Zagora Desert

On this thrilling Budget group 2 day Sahara desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora dunes, we recommend you start a little bit earlier in the morning, around 7:30 not to miss any part of the journey. Your Trip begins after passing suburbs of the city, Berber helmets, to the mountain pass Tizi-n-Tishka a road with over 2000 MTRS High in the Atlas, keep in mind there will be various stops for toilet and to admire the lovely scenery of The Atlas Mountains.

When You arrive at the AiT Ben hadou, you got free time to scout, with an “option” to rent a guide, to explore this World Heritage Hamlet, mostly known for Kasbahs, and this beautiful village has also hosted many Hollywood films & Tv series. Including { Queen of the desert, Babel, Alexander… And the list goes on}.

After the visit to this Berber settlement, you have one hour of spare time to enjoy your lunch. Then we will carry on to Ouarzazate visit the famous studio’s, then continue your way pass Via Agdz Oasis, anti-Atlas mountains, Draa valley that contains a lot of palm trees, a Long the River, you’ll see fortified casbahs, crops fields, by the way, in this area you can also find The largest palm tree in all around Morocco.

At the time you arrive in Zagora, get ready for a camel trek, through the Zagora desert, to see one of the most spectacular views of The sunset, on your way to your Zagora Bedwin camp. Enjoy your dinner under the stars, entertainingly the nomad people will take a place with their drums, and sing around the campfire. Or simply take your time to enjoy the silence under a pure clear sky.

Day 2: Zagora – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Following the next morning, your hosts in the camp will Wake you up for an unmissable view, as the sun rises. Then when you have eaten your breakfast, your Camel caravan will be waiting for you to transfer you back to the town of Zagora. And once again drive back through the unit Atlas to Ouarzazat where you’ll have a lunch break, and visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, before heading back to Marrakech, through the Atlas mountains. And your shared 2-day desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora will come to an end next to your accommodation in the evening at around 19:30 PM.

It is definitely one of the most memorable trips I’ve made in my life and something you can tick off your bucket list. Our driver Abdoullah was so kind and even helped us out of a pickle. His hospitality was so appreciated especially on such a long journey as this.

Everything was great, from beginning to the end. We even saw more things than I expected we are going to see. The driver wasn't talking much, what suits me, he stopped on every important photo/trip destination and dealt great with a hard/bumpy road. The berber and camel riding, the camp in the desert, dinner, sunrise and sunset, restaurants and caffes we stopped by the way, everything deserves 5 stars. I reccomend this 100%.

Enjoyable And great experience overall. As others have noted, it’s a long drive. Strangely there is little to any commentary during the drive. (This would be easy to fix.). All staff are very friendly and anxious to serve well but English communication became a bit of a challenge occasionally. Recommend Luxury option on accommodation. Am very happy with experience and would do again.
